"Spectre" is due for release this fall and the Bond 24 team has been wrapping up production. Director Sam Mendes, who also directed the previous James Bond film titled "Skyfall," has brought the team to several beautiful locations throughout Europe and Central America.
Mendes has promised fans that the "Spectre" elaborate opening sequence, which was filmed in Mexico City and recreates the Day of the Dead, will be unlike anything seen in the Bond franchise before.
Also, several production clips from "Spectre" have given fans an inside look into the film.
But below are five facts about the movie that fans might have not known.
5. World's Oldest Bond Girl
Italian beauty Monica Bellucci, who is 50-years-old, will be the oldest Bond girl to star in the franchise. The second oldest Bond girl was Honor Blackman, who was 37-years-old at the time that she was filming "Goldfinger" (1964).
4. 35 mm
"Skyfall," Mendes' last Bond film, was shot entirely digital. However, "Spectre" was shot on 35mm film, and Bond 25 will also be shot on 35mm. Daniel Craig, who has played Bond four times, is contracted to come back for Bond 25.
3. Most Expensive Bond Film
"Spectre" has supposedly become the most expensive film in the entire Bond franchise, costing over $300 million to produce. It also went extraordinarily over budget.
2. Oldman/Oberhauser?
Christoph Waltz makes a perfect villain. If you saw Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" you would recall his amazing performance as the cold blooded Nazi, Hans Landa. In "Spectre," Waltz plays a villain named Franz Oberhauser. However, another actor who is known for playing fantastic villains was approached for the role: Gary Oldman. He was unable to commit to the shooting schedule.
1. Another Director?
Before Mendes signed on to do another Bond film, director Christopher Nolan was highly considered for "Spectre." Nolan is known for his blockbusters "The Dark Knight" (2008) and more recently "Interstellar" (2014).
Associate producer Gregg Wilson has even said, "It would be a dream to be with Nolan."
Let me know what you think of this little trivia below.
"Spectre" will be in theaters on Nov.6.
